A New Controlled Atmosphere Gas Tight Doors

SCS has been working on designing a new CA Door based on the original Harry Lawrence-style CA Door. A lot of farmers prefer this type of door which we have been making for many years using a hardwood frame, however, The Hardwood reacts in different temperatures and can warp, expand & contract.

This compromises the gas seal of the store, so it requires steel goalposts connected to the main steel frame of the building, so you can bolt the frames to keep it straight and holding gas tightness.

After a lot of work and thought, SCS has designed a new Aluminium frame which bolts directly to the Insulated composite panel, giving rigidness without the need for steel goalposts, therefore saving the farmer tens of thousands of pounds and eliminating the need for steel.

The new door has been designed and tested on live CA stores and holds Gas tightness perfectly over the duration of the long storage period.
